Privacy Policy

Simple, practical privacy for a simple travel guide.

Try PEI is built to answer local travel questions without requiring an account. This policy explains what information may be collected when you use the guide, contact us, or ask about partnering.

Information You Provide

When you use the AI guide, you may provide a question, trip details, preferences, approximate location, timing, accessibility needs, or other travel context. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in the chat.

If you email Try PEI or use a mailto contact form, we receive the information you include in that message, such as your name, email address, business name, website, and message.

How The Guide Works

The guide uses local recommendation data and may use an AI model to generate an answer. When model mode is enabled, your message, recent chat context, and relevant local recommendation records may be sent to the AI provider so the guide can answer.

If the local dataset does not confidently cover a question, Try PEI may log that question as a local data gap so the recommendation data can be improved. These logs can include the question text, timestamp, answer mode, and matching signals from the recommendation data.

If you rate an answer as good or bad, Try PEI may log the related question, answer, rating, optional note, and recommendation IDs so bad answers can be corrected and good answers can be reinforced.

Analytics

Try PEI may use lightweight analytics to understand whether visitors open the guide, submit questions, rate answers, click category prompts, open recommendation cards, follow directions links, visit business websites, or return later.

Analytics events should not include the raw text of your travel question. Source codes in URLs, such as QR code campaign tags, may be used to understand where visitors found Try PEI.

Technical Data

The server may process technical data such as IP address, browser request details, timestamps, and rate-limit counts to operate the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors.

When you click directions, website, phone, or email links, the third-party service or business you open may collect information under its own privacy practices.

How Information Is Used

Retention

Try PEI keeps contact emails as long as needed to respond and manage the relationship. Local question-gap logs, answer-feedback logs, and analytics may be kept while they are useful for improving the guide, testing demand, and maintaining the service.
